Of all the things to do in Lawrence, KS in the spring, there are two things that come to mind. One is sitting on a patio at a downtown bar drinking beer. The other is finding ways to work off the extra calories from drinking beer. While there are several ways of doing this, and some people around here have found a way of combining drinking beer and working off the calories at the same time by playing kickball, personally, I enjoy going for long walks. One of my favorite places to do this is along the North Shore Trails at Clinton Lake, which stretch out for miles and are beautiful year round. I took some video footage on a recent walk and compiled it into this short video:
Some people travel the world to find something new, but sometimes the best discoveries are found in your own backyard. I’ve been living in the same apartment for a few years and never walked around to the back of the building until recently. Apparently, there’s a faery glen just outside my bedroom window I’ve not been aware of. Or maybe it’s a secret entrance to Hogwarts. One way or the other, there are some magically beautiful trees. Here are some photos:
I love going for walks on the weekends, when I don’t have to be cooped up behind a desk all day. And, although this weekend was too cold to spend much time outside, I did have the opportunity to look over a number of photos I’ve taken over the last couple of months. I found myself particularly drawn to several shots of trees, which tell the story of the changing seasons. Here are some of my favorites.
